Not really sure how to correct the problem and a little hesitant to start deleting volumes at random off my hard drive. My assumption is the freezing behavior is due to OSX going rogue and trying to improperly start the process of applying pending system updates.Īnyway, when this happened last I got stuck on the frozen load screen after multiple reboots, normal recovery mode didn't work, so I tried 'internet recovery mode' and I think that for some reason put an installer on to my computer that now my default boot drive. First time it happened i just rebooted till the machine finally started up properly. Sometimes when rebooting (into OSX) immediately after that happens the little load bar will freeze and it will just get stuck there and refuse to boot. For whatever reason when booted into Windows, my computer will shut down randomly after it's been asleep for an extended period of time. Hard drive is partitioned between Windows (bootcamp) and OSX. Tl dr - Unless I select the correct partition at startup my computer starts trying to install MacOS ("OSX") Reboot, delete folder, reboot back into recovery mode, access terminal again type 'csrutil enable' to renable protection and done. If you have permission issues boot into recovery (⌘R), select terminal from the menu bar, type 'csrutil disable'. There was a folder called 'MacOS Install Data' that needed to be deleted.
